05 Aug Life…Not About Finding Yourself, But About Creating Yourself

George Bernard Shaw said ”Life is not about finding yourself; Life is about creating yourself”. Words to live by and definitely amongst my favorite quotes of all times.

I’ve been wanting to find out about myself, and who I am for so long and I kept saying to myself that it is a life long process, but the truth is, I am who I want to be. I am a product of all my life’s happenings, memories and the way I decided to respond to all those things. Who I am now, is not the person I was, nor is it the person I will be. Which basically means that I will never be who I am today again.

Whatever I am, is because I created it…Yes I know it’s very deep, but think about it!

Another lovely quote by Charles Swindoll is ”Life is 10 % of what happens to you and 90 %  how you react to it”.

There are only so many ways to handle and respond to things happening in daily life and we constantly choose are paths by doing so, leading us to the next chapter.

This is a great thing, because it means that you have the power to create you, which in turn will create the life you would love to live. It’s all up to you. You can’t count on anyone else or blame others.

I love being in control and having the freedom to make my own choices. This is also one of the reasons why I love being an entrepreneur. While it is risky and not always sunshine and rainbows, it allows me to build my own path, with sweat, blood and tears, but in the end I have no one to thank but myself, which I think is the best feeling in the world. Plus, if it were easy, everybody would do it.

I feel very inspired today, because I’ve decided to map out my plans and goals. To create, as I do everyday, but this time consciously.
There is so much that has been happening for the past few weeks with Wulterkens and there are many diverse projects coming up that I can’t wait to share with you guys. I will be working on more blogposts the coming weeks, and a new, refreshing design. The plan is to do more diverse posts which will be a mix of Fashion, Lifestyle, Beauty, Fitness, Health, Food and Inspiration.

It’s 01:11 on a Tuesday night and I’m still at the office writing this, but I just wanted to share a short post because it has been a while and I felt inspired.

Now that I’ve reminded you that you can create yourself, how would you do it? Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be? And can you create yourself without listening to the world telling you who you should be?

Yeah that’s a heavy one, I’m still thinking about that one too haha!

Whatever it is you choose to do and be in life, always do and give your best. Create the best version of yourself and make sure you constantly update and grow. Don’t forget to enjoy the process, because life is what happens while you are busy making plans!
